Michelle Ely’s “50 Feminists” exhibition, painted over the previous two years, comprises more than fifty portraits of friends, family, associates, colleagues, acquaintances and admired feminist idols.
Importantly - it is not only the identity of the subjects and their many and various social, political and artistic contributions, which holds our attention, but it is also Michelle’s dexterous and engaging use of the palette, which consistently rewards the viewer’s eye.
