For Sarah Faulkner and her son Jordan O’Connor, journeying to remote locations has become a part of their collaborative, yet individual creative processes - each responding in the moment, to unfamiliar climates and landscapes - Sarah with an intuitive, gestural painterly approach and Jordan with an intricately detailed use of fineliner pens.
Significantly, both Sarah and Jordan’s works, which have emerged from a recent expedition to Iceland, reveal the great value of an artist immersing themself in the landscape - we note a palpable sense of climate, temperature, weather conditions and terrain - a sense of place - which has been felt and understood and then in turn generously dispatched to the viewer.
