Simon Gardam: Dirty Zest

Dirty Zest features a number of recent abstract paintings by Simon Gardam, this being the second iteration of a group of works made over the course of 2018. The first such grouping was exhibited at “Chamber Presents” during January this year, under the title “Long Pulse”.

In Gardam’s work for Four Eight Four, he shares with us a continuing engagement with sewn, collaged canvases, which by dint of their angular dynamic, announce many possibilities for both viewer and artist alike.

Accompanying these smaller works are three large and immersive paintings, offering multiple optical entry points, as we are drawn through, in and under Gardam’s elaborate, yet intuitively organic labyrinths.
